a little late but maybe this will help someone else...

You did the thing when it comes to buying a scope. Ask around then look through a few to see what you think will work the best for you. I did want to pass on to you that Nikon is having a big PROMO and you could have stepped up to the PROSTAFF 3 2.5-10 which with the discount put's it right in your price range.

I'm also a big fan of the Warne ring's, excellent quality for a great price.
