Vortex has unconditional lifetime warranty. If you throw it on the ground and beat it with a hammer send it back they send brand new one.

Nikon, Redfield, or Burris FF1 as stated above. I'd get which ever I could get the cheapest. I have all of the above, and I enjoy them all.

This is what I got for my .204 I purchased it with rings for under $200.00, I didn't need mounts as the rifle had the already. So far I have been very happy with it. It is clearer than my wifes Nikon.

I am becoming a Redfield fan myself so that's my vote

This is one of my favorite scopes. Plus, you cant beat the warranty

Arrowsmith could probably get you a better price

But is their glass any good? Scope hold up to recoil? Hold zero?
You know.... The important things a scope should have?

                    I'm just poking fun

With your price range of look at a 4-12 prostaff or 4-12 diamondback
Heard good things about the primary arms lineup but never had experience with them

Made by Leupold, and to me, the best bang for your buck. I have 2 Redfield Revolutions and a Redfield Revenge. The Revolution is "the next model up", but I honestly like my Revenge better. I have the Revenge on my Tikka 22-250 and I love it. I like being different too, but hard to not like a scope made by folks as successful as Leupold for $200.

I have 5 of the newer made by Leupold Redfields and they are all performers for the $200 range. The Leupold Rifleman also can be had in the same price range.
These are great American made optics for the price range you are looking in.

Just checked Cabelas, Redfield Revolution 3-9 is $159, 4-12 is $209, both on sale. Order it and call it good. I have the 4-12 Revolution anda 3-9 Revenge and they are both very clear and shoot well. Several other Nikon and Burris on sale if the Redfield doesn't tickle your fancy.

Thanks for all the input. I think I'm going to check out the Redfield. I've always loved Leupold scopes.
