My 06 Dodge Diesel books for more than I paid for it.......and I bought it in 08! I did get a great deal on it though, bought it when they were giving 16k off new ones because fuel was pushing $5/gallon. Diesel went to $2/gallon a month or two later.
Just went to look at F150's at my "local" dealers in Columbus and Brenham, and was absolutely floored. I mean, I was expecting high, but not THAT high. One of the F150's (new) in Brenham was SIXTY ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS.
I asked my wife "I wonder how many houses in Brenham cost less than that pickup truck !?!"
Unreal.
I really like the newer F150's. Pity I won't own one.
Pricing used vehicles lately, and WAS thinking about F150's, but I could buy a used ferrari for what they want for a V6 F150 with 80K miles on it these days. Are you kidding me?
$30K for a 1/2-ton with 80K miles? Is the bed gold plated or something?
Got my Eco Boost with 6K miles one year old for 27K. If you are looking online those prices are inflated and you can talk them way down. Unless its a King Ranch or Lariat you are looking at. I got the Texas edition, good enough for who its for.
But they are made from Aluminum now!....so they wont rust out on you...you know...because we are still living in the 70's....lol i swear i get so ****** when i hear the commercials hyping the aluminum body "so it wont rust"
That may not be an issue for most of Texas except maybe along the coast but it is a real problem in the states that have to salt their roads all winter.

There are much better deals to be found out there, you just have to look around. Also anything on a dealer lot will be inflated.
And for the naysayers, the "aluminum alloy" body reduces the weight, won't rust, and coupled with the 2.7 V6 turbo, gets high 18s around town and up to 28 highway (true mileage). It also will scoot when needed.
