OP, I paid $25k for mine, 3 yrs old and 27k miles. 4x4 v8. Shopping for a good deal on a used one is almost a full time job. There's deals out there but you really have to hustle to find them these days.
I buy my work trucks at blue bonnet ford in new braunsfuls. Back in December, I got a 2015 F250 diesel, 4x4, cloth seats, tow package, chrome bumpers, aluminum wheels, etc for $40,000.... by far the best deal I found. It was a special they had but they run various specials through out the year.
If you think fords are high, you should go price the chevy's
They are all high. Saw a 2016 Ram 2500 mega cab Laramie diesel that was $71k. [emoji15]

I am wanting to buy the new Laramie Longhorn 2500 cummins megacab when they change the body style in 2018. Just not sure I want to have a $800 a month note. It's crazy how much trucks cost now days. If the truck I want list for $71k and I get $12k off that's still $59k. Another $15k down and you are still financing $50k after taxes and an extended warranty
And for the naysayers, the "aluminum alloy" body reduces the weight, won't rust, and coupled with the 2.7 V6 turbo, gets high 18s around town and up to 28 highway (true mileage). It also will scoot when needed.
I hope the paint doesn't peel and bubble up on the aluminum like it does on the Ford Explorer hoods. Ford will not stand up and fix them, very disappointing.
Not ford bashing, I really like them. Google their problems with the paint issue on the explorer.
Try dealing with Internet sales man only. Find the sticker to get invoice, then calculate the dealers cost. Start making offers at 3% over cost. Bought my last 2 vehicles this way and I was able to negotiate 3% over deals cost. Easy fast sale for them and once they know that you know your stuff it's game over. Biggest tip I can tell you is to call around and price out warrentys. They are all negotiable.
I bought a new 1/2 ton Chevy Cheyene Super in 1974 for $4200. Loaded. I payed $32,000 for my HD 2500 extended cab, long bed w/6.0, semi loaded, 3 years ago.
Cheaper to buy new than used unless you have cash..
That's not what I'm finding. I was able to find 2015 Ram 2500 crew cab Laramie diesels in the mid to upper $40k range with 10k or less miles. New was mid to upper $50k range.
