Tons of sign this weekend way more than last weekend my son's spot is rockin but mine is dead had to find another spot but no trees looks like I will be ground blinding it. Lot's of scrapes and rubs.
Weather looks like it is going to cooperate low 60's for high and low 40's for lows

The Barronett Blinds are not bad for the money. Used one two years ago in the ice storm there.

i'll second barronett. i left mine in the weather for 2 years.

that was it, it died after two years, but that is awesome considering the wind, the sun and it was elevated.

edit: even had an owl land on mine and leave talon holes....

I saw that when I came out. Hope they made it back to their trucks before they got towed.

Put the miles on today. Sign everywhere. Jumped 14 deer while scouting BM. Made a new friend while there:

Got to eat my lunch in the rain under a massive oak. A dozen ducks, 18 turkeys and three armadillos rounded out my day.

Saw the aftermath of the hog slaughter from the spring. Lots of hog skulls about.

Lots and lots of water there too. The place changed quite a bit since last fall when I scouted. Hoping that my spots stay hot until Segment-C.

                Good luck boys.

Been scouting heavy for A. its still a toss up for me. Saw an absolute monster in sandy and plenty of sign. Saw more deer in BM than Sandy or Godwin. Dang hog sign is everywhere.

I'll bet the flood and subsequent abundance of marsh and swampy areas made the local frog and critter population explode. I was right on the bank of Mineral Creek and stepped over a log. Was wearing my big rubber boots today. Stepped within 18" of the SOB and about chitt my pants. After the pic I poked him with a stick and he lit out after me. Aggressive dude.

I'd wear my chaps out there fellas.

I hear ya boomer. I was walking along and saw something move in my line. He raised up and opened his mouth at me. Otherwise I wouldn't have seen him and would have likely stepped on him. Creeped me out as I had already been out there a good 6 hours without paying much attention to the area right around my feet.

Thanks for posting about the slither critters. Man I hate snakes. I spoke with 2 volunteers on Tuesday and each said the deer counts are above normal, and this was a pleasant surprise given the flooding. Rest assured ladies and gentlemen: The deer left during the flood but returned with friends. The hogs got mad after the helicopter thinning and repopulated like mice. This is going to be a good hunt. The game and weather conditions are very favorable. Good Luck see y'all Thursday!

We ran into this guy in BM. We walked up on this open spot and he was out there feeding.
We watched for a few and could see some more back in the brush. He finally noticed us and snorted and hair bristled up. I was getting ready to hug a cedar tree thinking he might charge but he wheeled around and took off and then the other pigs in the brush busted out with him.

Are they going to have designated parking areas like last year?
