    Peeing in your mock scrapes

I was a little skeptical, but I got convinced (like most people do) when I tried it myself and it worked.

I took a stick and scraped out a spot on the ground that was directly under a branch who's leaves are low enough for a deer to touch with its face and urinated in it myself. That was on October 8th. By October 10th, you can see the results. I don't know if this was risky putting it right next to the feed pen but it's an 18 yard shot from my stand. I'll post the new bucks as the last pictures, we've never seen them before and they are not regulars.

This doe was the first one to check it out.

Then this regular spent some time there freshening up the area, he's a nice 3.5 year old (we think), I'd like to give him a pass and see what he does over the next 2 years.

These last 2 are the new bucks.

I'm just hoping it creates an excuse for the 2 studs we have visiting this feed pen to come check this scrape at daylight, maybe a mid day stroll. Here's the target bucks:

Always figured this was some sort of tall tale...but I guess it works! Proof is in the puddin'. Gonna have to give this a shot myself

I found a good scrape this weekend....still hard to take the leak of faith....

We work so hard to be scent free, peeing in it just is hard to start doing. I may try at the very end of the season and put TC over it and see what happens....just can't bring myself to do it right now.

I have had a huge scrape for 2 years right by one of my bow stands. Every time I walk by it I do the same and it's always being used.

Haven't put a TC on it before but it stays fresh.

If you have a spare camera, try it in a new spot and see if it works, away from your main hunting area.

What if you're not in rut? Does it still work?

If you put a cam on it, try putting it up as high as you can and aim it down toward the scrape. I have had mature bucks quit using a scrape after one wide-eyed pic. Just a thought.

I'm in full rut 24/7, maybe I should start bottling my own urine as a scrape starter

It works year around. They are either interested in it or not. But your whiz is as good as any if they are interested.

Im a fan. If I have to pee in the woods, I always make a mock scrape. Been wanting to put a trail cam over one
