    1) I had been scouting an area and was seeing a nice 8 pointer along with a nice 10 pointer... Both had been browsing an area that would be an easy setup for the usual south-east wind... Unfortunately, there are hunters walking in to hunt the area where the Bucks used to be... Oh well I know better, it's public land I should not scout too far ahead and expect anything to be the same two weeks later...

    2) walked in for my first hunt of the year this evening... As I approach the area I was going to set up in I spook a doe that was bedded down about 30 yds from where my set up spot... To make things worst my old brush blind is Almost none existent since I did not get to hunt last year...

All and all I had a great time today saw an owl and a fox came in within 10 yards of my set up... I am grateful to The Lord that I am again healthy enough to be out hunting and able to enjoy his great creation, the great outdoors!!!

Since then, I've put in 5 or 6 sits and really had no shot opportunity.

Stay with it and it'll happen.

I love everything about whitetail deer hunting. Are there times where it gets frustrating? Sure. It's a game of chess and that's what I love about it. Instead of frustrations, I like the to call them challenges. The challenges you have to overcome to tag a mature, free range whitetail is something I live for. If it was too easy, I would get bored.

Shot a doe waaaaaay far back because she bolted as I shot first evening of the season. When I say bad I mean I missed the guts even lol. Still recovered her. Then have deer that only give me shots on my right and I have a bad back so I can't get turned around on them......even at 5 yards.......at least I recovered the deer and am seeing some deer

Not a frustration, but a lament. When I was young I had access to and used to run around on a couple of big ranches in the south Texas brush around Tilden. My kids will very likely never ever get to do that.

whats frustrating: not having the means to get away from the duck dynasty watching skyblasters!

No doubt. Supposed to be 100 degrees today. Yuck. That'll zap the motivation right out of a deer hunter. Lol.
