He told me he hit right through front shoulder arrow stuck in him about halfway 16 yard shot. I'll keep everyone updated if he finds deer

Sounds like he hit the shoulder blade and probably got 13-15" of penetration. Likely single lung, but if the arrow is still in there, it's going to slice. & dice as the deer moves

How far did he track him before he backed out? Said he was having trouble.... Did he lose blood? Backing out was definitely the right thing. I'm gonna agree with everyone else. I think that is a dead deer.
