    Pop-up camper help

I went out opening weekend with my brother and as we were setting up my pop-up camper, the pulley mechanism broke.

Unfortunately, this isn't the first time this has happened. Last year, my first time using the pop-up, as I was cranking it up the cables snapped. I paid a guy to work on it and was able to use it 4-5 times last season. Though I had some concerns from when he fixed it. As I crank it up, the cables twist around each other, causing what I believe to be a lot of unneeded pressure on the pulley system. Which is what I think broke it this time.

With all of that being said, it is supposed to be under a "two year warranty" ... But when I call the guy who fixed it, he won't return my calls. If the "warranty" falls through, do any of you know of a good reliable place to work on pop-ups? Or is this something I can fix myself? I'd really like to be able to use it during rifle season.

it is something you can fix yourself. if you crawl under it you should see the pulley system and how its all ran.

The pulley system is up inside of the cabin (runs under the benches and sink)

Or you can do what we did when ours was on its last legs. Back it up under a good sized tree, find some good rope and/or ratchet straps and then get the top up. Once up, tie it to a solid tree limb and it should stay there until you need to take it home or to the shop. That's the Pleasant Grove fix method

I loved our pop up and Lord knows we smooth wore that thing out over several years time. The cable system sucks though and that ended up being the final straw for me.

I will not work on the because of the liability, but I generally only charge about $400 to replace them on Jayco, some of the other brands are a lot harder running the cale

For around $2K I can solve your problem with a better pop up.
