Fixed vs mechanical. I've shot fixed since I've started. Been thinking about making the switch but not sure at all. My biggest worry is having the buck of a life time and the shot with no opening of the mechanical broadheads. What do yall shoot and why.

Switched to slick trick viper tricks because I was tired of my overthinking every shot when it came to blades not deploying. I'm doing better with just getting back to basics when it comes to my broadheads and tuning my bow so they will shoot correctly. Nothing gives me more confidence than knowing I have a razor sharp head flying exactly where I want with zero chance of mechanical failure.

broadheads
Mechanicals are fine when everything goes right on thin skinned game. It is when it does not that tells the tale. Look up Dr Ed Ashbys work on broadhead penetration on the web. These are real animal and carcass penetration studies and the most extensive testing that I am aware has ever been done. Having harvested moose, numerous elk, African game and over 150 deer ( MLDP) with both compound and traditional bow, sometimes things go bad. I have removed 2 mechanicals out of elk chest cavites walled off with 1 lung and ruttin like crazy. something to think about... my perspective

The main thing is shoot what you have confidence in.
