Had it happen to me one time. A little different situation. Had preached to the ex about leaving her purse in car. Got stolen one night and woke up the next day and check the bank account online and overdrawn to the tune of $1000. Filed police report, money was back in account that day, guess because we had a good relationship with the bank/banker. First thing he bought was three cartons of cigarettes and a few 30 packs of beer. Then onto Walmart to purchase gift cards, a Christmas tree, and toys. Saw that on the video/pics from Walmart. Also ran up two credit cards to the tune of another 2k. I was able to find out who it was(little birdie told me 
. Also told me that he was about to get popped for much bigger things and would most likely be going away for a long time. I figured let his kids have a good Christmas because he about to be toast. He wound up with a pretty lengthy sentence for drug/manufacture/distribution charges.
