All they needed to do is snatch it out--and head for the nearest ER or urgent care clinic.

I've got a scar on my middle finger from throwing a hardhead back years ago and the barb catching me.

I haven't seen anyone here offer to help. Heck I could could some time working on that to get here fixed up if you know what I'm saying.

On a side note, I stepped on a catfish head while wading around a muddy pond catching frogs when I was a kid. It was just the head and coated with mud so I had no idea what it was. I had to hobble back to our camp and wash it off and once we could tell what it was I yanked it out. Those little barbed fins are painful.

Whatever it is I volunteer to suck out the poison. For medical purposes only of course.

I liked the guy when he first walked up, was he looking at the fish or the rear end?

                  She was definitely a trooper.

On a side note, hard heads are evil creatures. Hate Em!

I dropped a 6" hardhead on my foot and the dorsal fin stuck 1/2" in my instep. Worst pain I have ever had for near 12 hrs.

Me and a buddy was running jug lines one night, he pulled one off of the hook tossed it back into the boat and it stuck right in my arm. Side fin was buried and the fish was flopping . He grab it pulled it out blood everywhere. Dang near passed out. Pulled the boat up to the camp and my buddy told his wife to get a 1st aid kit. There was an old timer sitting on the bank fishing and he said just get the slime off of a catfish and rub it on the wound, there won't be any pain or infection that way. Did what he said next day felt good as new. Been doing it every since when I get finned by a cat.

I've got a scar on the back of my thumb as well and that hardhead hit me over 25 years ago.
