I made the post earlier today about the police not getting served. I just received a phone call from a Whataburger spokesperson, and they told me that the employee had been fired. I did not answer the phone but he left a message. Looks like they are trying to get way out in front of this bad PR nightmare.

Did you make an attempt to contact them? Or did you post it on several social media things and they saw it? Either way, good for them for contacting you.

I've contacted Whataburger corporate a couple of times--once to compliment a manager who had her act together--giving guidance to her employees behind the counter, cleaning tables, checking with customers to be sure they were OK with their food, etc., and another time when the local store had a United States flag flying that was an embarrassment. They got back to me in both instances in a prompt manner to give me feedback and to tell me the flag was replaced. I've got no complaints with them--

I contacted them thru their website and said that I planned on posting my opinion on other websites until the person was fired.

He will sit at home and get paid for 9yrs worth of unemployment. You could show up drunk, shoot the place up, and burn down the rest and the TWC would still grant them unemployment.

You're right about that! It's almost impossible to get unemployment denied. I actually know the employee that did this. Even if it was a "joke" it wasn't funny and he deserved to be fired.

For something like that with an immediate firing it might be tough. I haven't lost a hearing yet when I have all the proper documentation and infractions on a terminated employee.

I dont think he should have been fired to be sent home to wait on his check in the mail. I think he should stay working and have him personally serve all LOE that come it. And I would invite the ones he did not serve in this case to come in every day of his shift for free meals
