              Why would the buyers prefer farm raised gators? What caused the price to crash like that?

                  Uniformity of the hides. From what I understand they put the hides on a sort of planing machine to shave the hide down to make it pliable enough to make purses, wallets, boots, etc. If all of the hides are the same thickness they don't have to change the settings hardly ever I guess

                      That's a shame you can't guide people. That's a hunt I have never done. Not sure what a coon pelt goes for but it my be more profitable than gators. They are killing me this year.

                          Man those prices suck!!!

                          I'd love to trade some crappie snatching for a gator trip or at least some fillets for tail meat. I'm out and miss blackened gator and sauce piquant.
