What dove load do you use?

I've been using a Federal brand 12 gauge 8 shot 2 3/4 shell with a modified choke. I've been very unimpressed with the range. I had 4 birds yesterday that should have been dead on the spot that flew off. These weren't what I would call misses, I had a few of those too. One bird even left a pile of feathers and flew off like nothing had touched it.

Rio Texas game load 3 inch 7.5 shot will reach out and touch em. It's high brass and our group has been very pleased with it. Any high brass 3 inch load should do well. Low brass is only good for skeet IMO

I use the cheapest stuff I can find, 26" mod barrel and always work fine..

Mostly use Remington SureShot #6 heavy dove.

I couldn't find any of the 3" high brass 7.5 Rios this year. Really wanted to try some.

A heavier/faster load flat drills em and they come tumbling straight down. Really does great.

Shur shot heavy dove. 7 1/2 or 8 with modified works well for me.

Rio texas game load 6 shot high brass! Really good for white wing and ring neck doves!

My dad gave me some Mirage 7 1/2 last week. I was impressed.

No matter what brand shell or what shot , I would imagine a 1 1/8 oz load packs more punch than a 7/8 oz load which should mean faster and harder hitting . But that`s just my opinion .

3" 7 1/2 Winchester... .410 bore. or 3" Remmy's same shot. Will use 6's if I can't find 7 1/2. 9's are OK but I like the extra umpf of the larger shot sizes.
