If you're shooting longer ranges, you might consider #6 shot instead of 7.5 or 8.

No matter what brand shell or what shot , I would imagine a 1 1/8oz load packs more punch than a 7/8oz load which should mean faster and harder hitting . But that`s just my opinion .

I like the 7/8 oz loads and think they actually hit harder/faster than the 1 1/8oz loads. I buy the 7/8oz hi-speed game loads in 7.5 shot.

There's your key! If you're gonna shoot "light" loads they better be quick. I like the results I'm getting from the Rio 1 1/8 oz 7.5s @ 1200 fps, in my experience the heavier shot loads pattern better when they're moving a bit slower. Plus the extra 80 something pellets is good for peace of mind!

Yeah I was shooting low brass 7 1/2 Xperts this weekend and I knocked the feathers off of several dove that should have been dead. I'm going to give some high brass 6's a shot next weekend

Rio Texas game load 3 inch 7.5 shot will reach out and touch em. It's high brass and our group has been very pleased with it. Any high brass 3 inch load should do well. Low brass is only good for skeet IMO

3" shells for dove? Y'all know people kill them with puny 20 gauges

Federal pink #8 out of my Beretta with IC choke puts dove down stone cold as far out as I need to shoot them.

7-1/2 shot. But it doesn't matter what size I use. I am an expert at missing them with whatever.

Remington SST127. 1365 fps, steel shot = more pellets. Speed kills.

Labor Day weekend I have confirmed kills with witnesses at 94 and 103 yds with a 20 ga shooting cheap Winchester 7/8 oz, 1275 fps. Its not the first time either. Dove die with cheap loads if you hit them. I'm too cheap to shoot high dollar loads at dove.
