    Lamb chop ideas

I'm visiting my parents this weekend and my mom got all fancy on us and got some lamb chops from HEB. The only problem is that nobody in my family has any idea how to cook them....

I was thinking about throwing them on the grill like a steak, but I really don't know....

Any suggestions from the chefs of TBH?

    Please and thank you!

Coat them in olive oil and sprinkle kosher salt and course pepper. Grill to medium.

I rub with olive oil and use a good steak seasoning. I use Bolner/Fiesta "Uncle Chris's steak seasoning. You can get it at HEB. Cook to medium rare flipping once using tongs. They are small and don't take long. Cook too long and they will get dry and tough. I never understood the mint jelly thing as I like the taste of lamb. it's one of my families favorite grill meals. Goes great with grilled asparagus.

Thank you guys so much for the ideas!

So, is there any reason to soak them in a marinade?

Or only olive oil, salt, pepper and grill?

No need to get fancy. Keep them simple, grill, and I promise you will enjoy them. Lamb chops do not need a lot of extra flavor to taste good.

fresh lime juice is a great marinade and season before grilling.

marinate them in lemon juice and even mustard for several hours to knock off that "gamey" taste

The lamb taste is the whole reason for buying lamb chops.

I agree, I love the taste of lamb. But also be aware that not everyone likes it.

For the big family occasions like Thanksgiving and Christmas I will smoke a couple of turkeys, a big ham, and a medium rare lamb shoulder and the lamb always gets devoured first. The first time several said "I don't really like lamb" and then they tried a slice and went OMG!!!! THIS IS SO GOOD!!!
