I remember the day and every detail of it. I was in 6th grade and our teacher turned on the news. After the towers fell, they called the entire school (K-12) into the gym to explain what we had been watching. Dead silence in the gym the entire time. Finally a 1st or 2nd grader raised his hand and asked if anyone had been hurt. I believe that was the moment when everyone in that room truly realized the gravity of what had happened.

While I will never forget, it is a shame that so many have seemed to push it aside.

filling a feeder at the lease. Not too uncommon to see a jet fly by but this one was different its wings were loaded with rockets. Didn't learn about the attack for another hour when I got to work. Living next to the El Toro base years ago I've seen several fighters come and go but I swear this was an F4 in beast mode.

Me and my good friend Matt Krueger where working for the phone company at the time splicing a new cable route in Welder TX when we had a complication in the transfer of old cable to new so i got in my truck and went down the road to the pedestal he was at, the complication was he was in his truck so that is why we couldnt communicate on the cable pair we had set up to talk on. needless to say i got in the truck with him to see what was going on! the rest is history. His words to me were....."Have you been listing to this?"

I knew that view very well as I lived on Route 3 in Jersey for a few years...............seems like yesterday! Sadly, we have mostly failed those poor souls. Really sad day for soooo many. I even knew two men that loss their lives on that faithful day.
