How about a Positive LEO Thread (long read but keep the positives going)

Not to lose sight of the LEO's who have lost their lives in the line duty but my heart and prayers goes out to them and their families but I see too much negativity on the TBH at times about LEO and passing judgment so I thought it would be good to start a Positive thread.

What does positive mean? It means give your positive support for them , share what they have done for you etc. but leave the negativity out side.

I will kick it off by first recognizing all of our TBH LEO's along with all LEO's and tell them thanks for their service. Thanks for doing what many of us won't, or can't do, you put yourself in harms way each day on the job for our protection and security and that I am thankful for all of you!
Shout out to Chew, Mechead and Ellis (Newton Cty Game Warden) , just some of the LEO's I know best and appreciate all these guys do.

Now a past true story of LEO who did not know me from Adam.

In 2006 my oldest daughter who was 18 at the time took off for Syracuse Kansas with a boy friend. He was a Mexican boy who she knew I did not approve of due to his attitude, school issues and general issues with respect.
He took her to Syracuse Ks and moved her in with his dad, two friends and this guy. Well all I knew was what town she was in, no address, no phone number nothing. I was quite upset and turned on the hard love and said she is going to have to learn.
Well a week later I get a call from her, upset, crying, telling me she needed to get out of their and how bad it was. She wasn't allowed to eat nothing but peanut butter sandwiches, but had to cook dinner for the guys. I asked her where she was and all she could tell me was Syracuse over and over, I asked the address and she said she wasn't allowed outside so she didn't know. Then all of sudden she had to hang up and said she would call me back.
After an hour she calls back and 30 seconds in the conversation I hear her boyfriend come in yelling at her for being on the phone, screaming at her and then the phone hangs up.
Now I am mad, Houston to Syracuse is no short drive, flights to Garden City are no where near leaving in the next few hours. I call the Sherriff's office in Syracuse , tell them what is going on, give them vehicle description etc. They have a deputy call me back and he tells me not to worry they will locate them. Now this all was at 4 in the afternoon and I get a call at 11 PM from the deputy, he informs me he has not been able to locate them and that he was about to get off his shift and he would hand it over to an under sheriff.
Well a long night but at around 5AM I get a call from the same deputy, he has located them. This deputy stayed up all night assisting the under sheriff in trying to locate them. Now how great is that, LEO went above and beyond normal call of duty to help me out. He had my daughter and her boyfriend there by his car and told me when he asked my daughter to leave with him she said no she wanted to stay. Now for how the law works he said he could not make her leave, she needed to do it on her own. I told him I would be there and get her to leave with me as I figure her boyfriend had her scared into saying that. The deputy told me they would keep surveillance on them until I arrived, again LEO's going above and beyond to which I greatly appreciated.
I arrived in Syracuse the next day and went straight to the sheriffs office and met everyone I was talking to over the phone. Expressed my gratitude towards them all. They put undercover all around the house and told me they had my back if anything went wrong. I went to the house, and spoke to my daughter and yes she got in my car and right after she was in the back seat the sheriffs department moved in. What did they find , 2 undocumented immigrants , marijuana that they were selling , so all in all it turned out good for both.

So after all this I returned safely home with my daughter and how did I show gratitude towards the Syracuse Sheriff's Department, I gave them a donation that they were able to use it for things needed, 2 new shot guns, some new vests and the next part is what touched me when the Sheriff called. They had funds left over and he wanted to use them to put up a memorial for two officers who were killed in the line of duty but never had anything in their honor. Well I agreed and informed him that if what was left was not enough to let me know.
The memorial can be seen at the base of the American Flag outside the Sheriff's office in Syracuse.

The moral of this is to show that LEO will go above and beyond to help us citizens and when they do show gratitude. Show your support everyday and support them for when you need help , they will be there to support you.

Here is a pic of the Sheriff's office and the memorial.

Great story and what an awesome gesture donating to that department! You are correct sir that we take what these folks do day in and day out for granted and are so quick to judge if they do make a mistake. Thanks for posting!

I learned many years ago, that if I had a bad dealing with an LEO, 9 times out of 10 it was my fault. This whole thing has gotten way out of hand. It's a dadgum shame what our country is turning into. God Bless all LEO's and thank you for what you do.

It ain't much but we've started a tradition at our house. Last few Christmas Eve's my wife's cooked a big ol batch of cookies. On Christmas morning we've gone down and the boys take them in and leave em at the 911 call desk. They call the guys workin that shift and tell em to come by when they can and pick some up.

Got a cop in the family.
I sometimes let him win at washers.

Much respect for them. Prayers for all of them.

Really nice story. Thank you for sharing. I've always respected Leo's and understand they are here for me and my safety. Had some LEOs go above and beyond to returm a stolen safe to me...i got everything back but one gun.
