I'm not trying to pick at you either, but if the hit was low, and as little as a coue inches behind the shoulder on a broadside pig, it is possible that you did not get any lungs at all!

On pigs and deer, low is great, low and back not so much!

This is what Im thinking. That thick fat will clog up a hole in a hurry.

Every time I've used a slick trick they work great killed pretty much everything with the grizz 2 last year. On pigs I like to aim about 2-3" directing above the front elbow always leaves good blood

I am a firm believer that the blade angle of a slick trick makes them leave bad blood trails.. I have no science behind it but i really believe it is true..

Never have I lost a shot animal after using Slick Tricks. Blew threw a 150lb hog at 30yds last year (Viper Trick), 20yds later dead. They can easily be sharpened and tough, tough broad head.

slick tricks are my go to, but ive never shot a hog with them. Many deer have fell prey though.

Get you a blood tracking dog, then go out following animals for other hunters, then you'll know why people ask about how you how good the shot was.

Hog vitals are further forward than deer. Wait for 1/4 away shot, enter just behind near shoulder and exit in front of far shoulder.

You still won't have lots of blood but you will have a short track.

I have tracked many hogs and deer with a dog. From my experience the small micro heads (slich tricks etc) do the job but dont open them up as much. They do seem to be easier to tune from what I have heard. Big 2 blade cut on contact heads open critters up and leave blood on the ground insead of in the chest cavity. Just keep on shooting them with whatever head you have and if they fall in sight go get them.

                              It's a trade off.
Large 2 blade obviously do not penetrate as well, but leave gaping wounds that don't clog or close-up on themselves like wounds from 3 or 4 blade heads.

Tiny fixed heads penetrate great, but physics dictate they won't dump blood the same as a 2 blade.

My .02, if you push decent KE and keep shots to 20 yards...there's not a pig alive you can't smoke with a large 2 blade.

Furthermore, hogs are the toughest animals we hunt, the more damage the better. Big holes are better, but you gotta stay out of the shield.

                              Hope this helps.

Exactly. They are bad about that if the holes are not ultra low.
