Get one of those feeders that attach to the tree and puts out attractants. We have had very good luck with the BB2 products. Both the granules and the block.

The red block from Tractor Supply labeled American Stockman ( mineral block ) is pretty good and the hogs don't bother it much. $9 I believe.

You guys that hand corn......how often do you put out fresh corn? I'm assuming often enough that the deer start to look for it, but not so often that they start to sense pressure.

I do it every day when I hunt, which is usually two weekends a month

On my place, bucks will find hand corn within 12 hours of it being there, even if it hasn't ever been there before.

I put out handcorn & rice bran every time I check cameras. I live where I hunt though & can check cameras 2x a week.

We've tried it ALL and on east texas bucks, nothing compares to hand corn & a pile of rice bran. Rice bran is like crack for our bucks. I have seen a buck challenge a cow for rice bran.

Just pure rice bran, or is something else mixed with it? I tried rice bran on a place we hunted north of Colmesneil and it sat undisturbed for a long time. However, on our current place I tried Buck Bran (mainly rice bran with some other stuff thrown in) and they looove it!

Following this. Good info. At Georgetown lake we are only allowed one feeder, but I have 2 close spots I would like to hunt. One will be better in the morning, then 2nd spot better for afternoon. Thanks for the info.

That's what I do....although it's about a 15 minute drive to where I hunt. Starting in the summer I may check cameras, hand corn and put out rice bran about every other weekend. Then, I go once a week as the season gets closer. Since they find it within 12 hours like you say, I'm tempted to go twice a week, but don't want to put too much pressure on the deer. I'm lucky if the deer find it before the hogs do.

Like menace said, I do it every time I go out to hunt, but mainly concerned with the months and weeks leading up to the season.

I bowhunted 20 years before I purchased my first feeder. Trails, scrapes, whiteoak trees etc.
