I read on here early last week about the sale that Atwoods was having on corn. So I go by there at lunch last Thursday to the one in Nacogdoches and of course they were out. I asked one of the girls working there about it and she said they were expecting more in at anytime. Flash forward to today and I go in and they still don't have any and the sale ends today. The little girl at the register said they had a bunch ordered but it didn't come in- they had been out for three days and had lost a lot of business because they didn't have any. Makes you wonder if they did this on purpose or just so incompetent they didn't realize what the demand might be. Since they didn't offer rain checks it makes me think that they had already decided how much they would get in and when they ran out that would be it. Real irritating!

I know the rebate was probably why they would run out, but do they not have marketing people in these chain stores that look into the market they are in, the time of year, and anticipate a large turnover? My God, they are in east Texas, roughly two weeks away from probably the biggest weekend (other than opening day) for deer hunters and they don't think they can move corn? If space is a problem, and at this Atwoods I really don't think it would be, have it delivered every two days.
