        I agree.
Saved the 2nd picture & tho it's fuzzy enlarged, it appears to have a couple of rattlers.
Markings are unlike any copperhead I've seen.

Its real I'm guessin. A snake that size could eat a full grown cottontail rabbit pretty easily. I caught three snakes in April in a trash pit and killed 2 wood rats and 4 mice and threw them all in a bucket together. The biggest snake was 43" long and he ate both rats and two mice. There was one mouse left and one of the smaller snakes about 2' long had a small lump in its stomach. Its suprising how much those things will eat sometimes. I've skinned several big ones that had rabbits in their stomach and I remember one that had 2 half grown prairie dogs in it. If they can catch it and get their mouth around it they'll eat it.

Shoulda told him to wait till the snake gets the squirrel down, chop its head off, skin it, cover it with Ragin' Blaze. Then ya cold smoke it for roughly 36 hrs. Once this round of smoke is complete, split the snake open, the squirrel hide should be able to be slid right off. Take a habenero, chop it in quarters, mix with 1/4 cup rendered bear fat, 1/4 cup cream cheese and more ragin' blaze. Stuff that in the lil varmint. Then wrap in bacon. Make sure snake is skinned and gutted now, split the ribs wide (this is where we get crazy), and wrap around the bacon. Where the snake overlaps itself, spread with honey butter. Tie it up with butcher's twine rub with cayenne and brown sugar. Hot smoke @ 275 for 6 hrs. And viola! Let me know how it turns out!

The lighter snake is not a copperhead...looks more like a prairie rattler

Are you sure about that? Doesn't look like one to me. The markings are not the same but I'm no expert.

I've went to pick up swuirrels before and had a snake eating them. Timber rattler to be exact.

Are Timber Rattlers still protected in Texas? They're not in SC.
