    Red light camera

I got 5 tickets in the mail about 5 months ago all from same light. All for turning right on red . I called on them . Was told to pay them nothing could be done.after about thirty minutes on phone I finally said listen to this as I ripped them up and threw them in trash and hung up on her. Now they have a hold on my registration. Any way to beat them.

Buddy of mine told me that if you take them to court, technically the ticketing officer cannot defend it and it will be dismissed.... don't know if he's full of it or not but that's what I have heard.

      Hire a lawyer.

Maybe you can beat it. But I'd start by not doing the rolling stop at that light.

How can you face your accuser in court if it wasn't an officer of the law that gave you a ticket, but instead a camera

I got lit up turning right on red in Houston but never got a ticket. I assumed they had a process of weeding those out.

The way they get around the sixth amendment with these cameras is that they make the red light cameras not criminal violations, but civil violations. There's no criminal penalties, and not criminal process, so there's no need to confront the witness, and yet they can put a hold on your registration because that is an administrative civil process. It's totally bull****, and I don't know how it's legal, but that is what it is.

Take them to court. There should be video of each incident. If you rolled it the. You'll have to pay up plus court cost. However they may work a deal with you in court to dismiss a couple if you pay the others. Never know till you try.

This is why I'm always extra careful around the red light cameras! They have no discretion.

My mom got a ticket for turning right on red in Humble by a camera. She beat it in court.

I don't know if you can beat it but you can register in another county. That's what I did anyway. I have over $1000 in tickets from the red light at 820 & Rufe Snow. It will get you for making a right on red. No signs saying you can't make a right on red. I paid the first one, and then did some research. No more. If they can't arrest me for it, I'm not sweating it. Just moved my registration and kept on going.

I got one in Arlington and refused to pay it. I had to put in for a change of address on my driver's license a few weeks after that. I did it online, but received a letter from the red light enforcing company from out of state telling me that I wouldn't receive my new license until I paid up. I figured I'd have to, but I put it off and a few days later my license arrived in the mail. Screw 'em!

Glad they got rid of the cameras around here.
