[QUOTE=thomson2008;982716]The dog trails the deer and the sport of it is for me [as the dog’s owner] to determine where that deer is going to cross the road and that’s where I need to be standing for me to shoot the deer. When they’re doing this, they’re running across people’s personal property. You know, it just boils down to that was a legal activity years ago, but you were supposed to shoot them on your property. You don’t have a right to turn a dog loose for it to wreak havoc on everybody’s personal property.

Nevermind!

I got to go with Matt McWilliams on two calls this past weekend. "Smoke" and "Red" tracked a wounded deer for close to 1.5 miles over VERY rough country, and the San Saba River, before opening up and shortly thereafter baying the deer. It was amazing to witness, and I didn't even mind donating my cell phone to the river.
Second call was for a buck I shot, and I'll post that story later. I have seen "Smoke" do unbelievable things and am 100% confident he is the BEST dog out there, BAR NONE. Simply amazing! These are not pets, or dogs that are lead around on a leash. They get the job done!
