I'll let you know in another week or two how easy it is. So far, it's pretty muck sucking...lol.
I lost a lot of blood during the surgery ( the equivalent of a woman giving birth) so that has kind of hindered me being able to rehab as hard as I'd like to. Good luck with yours.

Yes, replacement is an easier recovery but it will eventually wear out and need to be replaced again at some point in the future, so consider that. I will be 52 next week and after speaking with several surgeons which are friends not one recommended replacing the ACL at my age. They all said just to ride it out until I absolutely needed a replacement. I will tell you Im very active and it doesnt hurt or bother me but Im in pretty good shape. The only thing I notice is it is not as stable as my other knee when Im doing exercises that require standing or balancing on one leg so I have a fitted brace I wear now when doing those. Other than that Im good to go on anything. One of the doctors I met with has a partner who hasnt had an ACL for 20 plus years and he is a marathon runner. Just some stuff to think about.

I've blown out my left acl twice and tore my meniscus to boot get it fixed start therapy as soon as you can get it moving cause the atrophy suck trying to rebuild all the lost muscle tissue, the incisions they do now days are not like the railroad tracks I have on my left knee, done about 25-26 years ago, the patellar graft they took still hurts to kneel on, do it know I'm 52 and no problems with them so far

I just had my ACL fixed two months ago. It was a major pain. I also did a lot of other damage to my knee. Do your rehab and you will be fine.

Rehab it the key man. You can have the best surgeon in the world but if you don't do the rehab it won't matter. I looked forward to rehab actually, felt good to get my range of motion back and such. Make sure you hit the weights when they give you the okay too, I still have atrophy in my left quad from it.
