I would look north of Hwy 35, and West of the San Bernard. Wharton county or Matagorda county.

I have lived in Brazoria County my whole life. Not a big fan of it......I try my best to stay as far west as I can.

I'm with the others, Bar X is your best bet, you can build a nice house out there for under $200,000. I wasn't impressed with the West Columbia school district which is the reason we sold and moved to Needville.

Mac, you can build in Bar X for under 200, but you may be looking for a move in ready place.... Rent housing will be tough to find but possible if you can hold out.

Sweeny is a well respected school and may have open enrollment without paying out of district tuition...

You can get just east of Brazoria in the Sugar Mill area and your kids can go to Lake Jackson intermediate and Brazoswood HS.... Another great school for baseball and softball. Not so much for other sports.
