He'll be forever changed once he gets in those yellow foot prints. The first 48 hrs seem rough, but the real fun won't start for another week or so.

Congrats to the future Devil Dog and to the parents who raised him right. They will make it tough on him to start, and then they build him into the warrior they need him to be. If you're not already versed on the subject, study the history of the United States Marine Corps. It will help you understand the new thought process/prospective he'll have about things when he gets out of boot camp. The Corps is very big about its history. He will be able to tell you all about it when he gets out of boot camp. If it's in your budget, absolutely make the voyage to San Diego for boot camp graduation. MCRD San Diego is a really nice little base. They have a nice Marine Corps museum on the base. Plus, a couple of days spent in San Diego is always pleasant. It's a nice city with plenty to do.

This is absolutely correct. Uuufff, those yellow footprints. They are legendary for good reason. Stepped on them and thought "Holy $H!t ! What have I gotten myself into?" I'll never forget that day.
