Neither will I. Keeping your head down on the bus ride there and then some guy jumps on board screaming who knows what. A shock to the system for sure. You go 3 weeks bwfore you even realize you haven't dropped a deuce.

It was a lot of fun looking back at it though

I went to Parris Island. Our bus driver was lost and dropped us off somewhere across the base. I remember standing there and not moving a **** muscle. Eventually someone showed up and gave us a ride to the footprints. We didn't get to stand on them though as they rushed us straight in. I've always felt shorted on that night....2 minutes later it was only a memory anyways.

Congrats are in order though for the young one, he will be coming back a man.

Oohrah. He will be fine. Write him often and tell him you are proud of him. I was rejuvenated every time my Dad wrote me in boot camp. Congratulations and thank you for raising a fine young patriot. Our country needs more young men like your son. Semper Fi!!!!

Little brother did the same 2 years ago. Currently lives in 29 palms California. The rough parts will be over before you know it, then he'll be living a semi normal life and you'll be able to talk to him everyday. Will be praying for strength for family and the young man!

A long night indeed. But I would take that long night over Black Friday any day of the week! It was one of the best experiences of my life. I wouldn't change it for the world. Good luck to him and congrats to you and your family.

Excellent! I stood on the footprints in '88. Seems like yesterday.
