    Dont use pliers. There is a tool for this. It usually comes with the lights. Makes it super easy. Go to HD or lowes and see if they have it.

        If the tater don't work...... Needle nose!

        Even if the power is off...... Make sure to wear rubber soles and not ground yourself

          Finally got them on. Cripes. The problem was in the cheap plastic rings. I held bags over the globes and broke them, to get them out of the way. Then used a big channel lock to get the plastic rings off (one of the ceramic sockets cracked, but it was still usable). Then I got 3 METAL rings off the dining table fixture - I can replace those later. The metal rings screwed right on, no problem.

            Try turning the whole globe to loosen the ring.

              Oh new GLOBES! Duh. Sorry, I though got you were just trying to change bulbs.

              Go get that tool they have at the hardware store that's specifically designed for this.
