    Doesn't work that way.
I know. It's not exactly 25 winners for every 100 tickets you buy. But the overall odds of each game are on the back of every ticket. It says "overall odds of winning is 1 in 3.86 or 1 in 4.03" or whatever the odds are. Generally speaking and rounding off, the odds to winning are 1 in 4 including break even prizes on most scratch off games.

My point was that I would be willing to bet that if the OP bought 100 tickets, there were way more winners (break even or whatever) than just a few that were mentioned.

Won $100 the other day on a $2 scratch off. Cashed it in and bought fireworks and dinner for the wife and daughter. I play maybe once every 3 months.

You can also go on the Texas Lottery web site. Click on scratch offs then to the right click games ending soon. Click on the game and it will tell you how many of each prize advertised on the game and how many tickets that are left with that prize amount. For instance if you look at the Hot and Spicy there were 10 $25,000 prizes and 6 have been claimed.

Most I ever won was $100 on a scratch off. I've probably broke even in my lifetime. I have better luck with poker.

Bet his ex & kids hope he hits another big one.

I won $50 once. Probably spent $300 trying to do it again.

I used to all the time. I'd buy 1,2 and occasionally5 dollar tickets. I won 50 dollars on a 10 dollar ticket once and 150 on a 2 dollar ticket. Then I thought bet big,win big....so I started playing 20 dollar tickets. I'm a sore loser. If I lose I play until I win or lose all my money. I got tired of losing money so I swore off 20 dollar tickets. One day I was in line at the c-store and got the urge to buy just one more.....but I stuck to my guns. Didn't buy it.....the next guy in line did though....he won 75,000 dollars off of that ticket. I like seeing people win. Yeah I feel happy for people when they win.....that night I wasn't feelin it. I still ain't.

I bought my wife $100 worth of tickets a while back. She won $70 back. I shoulda just given her the $100.

My buddy in college played every single day. He would buy like 5 of several different tickets. He actually would win some money...but then lose it all when he went back for more. lol.

I've won 500 a couple of times and 300 more times always when I'm traveling though. I used to buy them pretty often by now I hardle ever buy them at all.

There's a guy my dads friends with he has a pattern of stores he goes to everyday and will buy who knows how many tickets he has hit the 50 thousand several times and everything below but he has spent way more than he's ever won. He doesn't even scratch them all the way off he will scratch the numbers and can tell if they win jus by the serial codes or whatever you call it. (And he doesn't use the computer to scan them either)

You buy a 150 acre ranch and it could all be gone plus some real fast.

I think you can "write off" the losers but only off any winnings should you win enough to pay taxes.
Where did you get "roughly 0% interest"?

If you're younger than 30-35, $500K would set you up for a comfortable retirement at 55-60 years old if you knew where to put your money. My brother put in $40K with a guy about 4 years ago and he's getting 7%.

$500k invested for 25yrs, and averaging 7% annually would yield about $2.7mil, not bad

Won about $50 in college once! Our fraternity got in a little trouble and had to do roadside cleanup for community service. Found a stack of scratch offs in a rubber band and picked it up to find em all winners. Bought 3 cases of beer and thought to myself crime does pay!!!

I won $7k back in 2008 in a $7 scratch off. Also, won several times at $500, and too many to count at $100-$250 range. In sure I'm way behind though...

Well I bought 2-$2 and a $5. All I did was break even on one of the $2.
