I do for sure! But I was talking to a buddy the other day...we pay $6-$8 a month to have a company come pick it up...why don't we start our own recycling business. Get a few neighborhoods on a route and make a few hundred extra dollars a month!

Hey, it's an idea. It is/could be a big business!

Now that would be sweet! Would you then market the ingots, or do you have a use for them?

I don't understand this either. We recycle too but have to buy our bins and the company is making money on the recycling so why wouldn't they dish them out for free to encourage more of the neighbors to participate?....to make more money, I know.

But here's the deal...at least we recycle... some people don't and the just throw it away... Do you know what happens to recyclable items after you throw them in the trash???

THE CHINESE BUYS ALL OF THE US TRASH, simply to recycle what we were too lazy to recycle. Then they sell it right back to us in the form of whatever is in your house that says "Made in China"

The second richest woman in the world is a Chinese trash buyer, and she buys all of her trash from the U.S.! Crazy money in it... Especially for recyclers.

I do, I fill up two large curbside bins every two weeks and a small trash can every week. But Austin makes it easy.

We have curbside and fill a bin half-way just with all the catalogs wife gets, plus we get 2 newspapers a day. We compost all the vegetable peelings and coffee grounds and I crush and sell aluminum cans--buys a sack of corn now and then.

We do....Have a XL green curbside can for trash and a blue L curbside can for recyclables. We try to recycle everything we can and probably add some things that are borderline. Been doing it for 10+ years so it's now habit.

We do but we're out in the county so I have to haul it in to the city's recycling collection center. Clear glass, cardboard, aluminum cans, newspaper, and 1 & 2 marked plastic. It is amazing how fast it accumulates!

curb side pick up at my house. We put out nearly twice as much in recycling as we do in trash. Most of our trash is in diapers. Unfortunately I've contributed truck loads to the landfill with 4 kids going through diapers.

We have it as part of our trash service.

My kids elementary school has participated in a national recycling competition for the past 4 years. In that time, they have won 1st place twice and won right at $70,000 total. That adds some pretty nice playground equipment and such that the school district probably wouldn't be able to provide.
