Corrugated Plastic sheets for a blind

Just wondering if anyone has used corrugated plastic sheets for walls of a blind... I saw on another post someone suggesting using old "political" signs for lightweight walls and it got me thinking about my upcoming blind build. For an elevated ground blind, i was thinking about a wooden base but using metal studs for the walls and then covering the walls with the corregated plastic sheets (you can get 25 18"x24 panels of this for less than $50 but can also get bigger sheets). Just screw the panels to the studs and seal them together with foil tape then use pink foam board on the inside for insulation. Anyone tried something similar? Want something lighter than plywood walls and was originally thinking Steel siding sheet for the walls but then had his idea. Thoughts? (I know it wouldn't last in a big wind storm but want something somewhat lightweight...)

I got some 4x8 sheets & made a "ghost" blind. It worked, but I'll redesign for my next one.

You can buy it by the foot at most RV parts stores. I believe in 8ft wide and as long as you want. That is what most trailer manufactures use to close in their underbelly, but I don't think it is very cheap compared to plywood. I have thought about this many times and I just go back planning it with plywood

I've done it and they lasted more than five years in west Texas weather. You can buy bigger than 4x8 sheets too which is handy. Check out royal plastics. It's pretty cheap. Locally there are at least two locations Around DFW. I bet they have locations in Houston too.

I built 3 4'x6' blinds out of 4'x8' and 5'x12' sheets of coroplast that we were given to get it out of a guys back yard, along with a punch of wooden pallets. Very long lasting and will hold up to almost anything. I built a frame out of 2x4's and 4x4's with a plywood base and they have lasted form a few blow overs and moving via 4 wheeler and trailer. The only problem is the heat in the early season. They sheets we got were clear, but I painted the outside a green and inside with black.

Did you use the coroplast as the roof as well?

I did but I used the heavy duty for the roof. It's quite structural.

I used the same for walls and roofs. Mine was 1/2" coroplast.

I get my coroplast from Regal Plastics. They offices all over the state. the 10mm would work the best for walls.

Regal Plastics sells pretty much anything you need. You can get different thicknesses of the corpoplast, 4 mil is typical, then you can get like 6, 10, and maybe even 12 mil 4x8 sheets.
