Check out Bluegill up by the USS Alabama. Best grilled oysters I've ever had. My kids are 6 and 10 and they love the go cart place right by Lulu's. Alligator Alley was fun for them too.

We were a little down the coast from Gulf Shore. There was a tackle shop close that rented kayaks. We went in and said, were DYI guys, help. I honestly can't remember how we were rigged. They set us up.

I've got a pretty good idea on how to rig up. Probably the same way I rig up while fishing the surf with my surf rod. Wire leader for sure for them toothy critters.

There is a Kayak rental place on the West side of Gulf-coast parkway not far from Beach Blvd (probably around 5th Ave) you will see the yellow Kayaks on the outside of the building.

Our favorite resturant is Acme right on the causeway, my kids love fishing from the State Pier. although the food is nothing super special if you have kids go to the Hangout one evening, they will have a blast but plan on spending 3 hours or so there. We get there around 7:00 and get on the seating list and the kids play and we listen to the band an hour before the table is ready eat (there will probably be 10-15 minutes of chaos break out at some point during your meal loud music, people dancing, air cannons shooting napkins and confetti, etc) then after you eat hang out and listen to the band and let the kids go wild. It is a fun experience.

For tackle and bait in addition to WalMart there is a store in Orange Beach about 4 miles away called Top Gun Tackle that has all the basics and is very convenient but it is worth driving a few more minutes to J&M tackle in Orange Beach...it is a really cool store.

My parents have a rental condo there and we have gone for a week in June for the past 6 years.

The hangout is a cool place. You can go zipline really close to there also. We visited an alligator farm within a short drive from there and drove to Pensacola one morning and watched the Blue Angels perform

If that's the tackle shop I'm thinking, they sell live shrimp as well.

Two ships, mythical statues and a wedding chapel are all at the bottom of the Gulf and there's more to come thanks to the Alabama Gulf Coast Reef and Restoration Foundation.

Shrimping for 4 out of fort Morgan is fun
Dolphin cruise out of orange beach is fun
Goo Roos in Gulf Shores has good food
Matts ice cream across the street is good too
Zip lining right where OB and GS looks fun

                      Fishing
Shared expense off shore is reasonable out of Zekes and beats the party barge
                      Inshore hasn't been great

Just got home from there and most places are listed above but here are a few my kids enjoyed. They are 5 (almost 6) and 10.

                          USS Alabama
National Naval Aviation Museum and watching the Blue Angles practice
                          Alligator Alley
The Wharf (we ate at Baumhower's)
Dolphin site seeing tour on the fun boat

We camped at the state park and would definitely camp there again. We mostly ate at the trailer with me grilling most evenings after a swim in the pool.

Call Dusty Mizell with Fish Kabob bowfishing and go shoot some rays with him. It's a blast.

There is always a wait for dinner, but it is worth it.

We have been there all week playing in a tournament. Our favorite place to eat was Flora Bama. Live music, good food, beautiful setting. Tons of Jelly fish on the beach. We had to stick to the pools. Have fun, it was a blast for us.
