Tile. We have it in our utility, kitchen, dining, living and in my trophy room (converted patio). Easy to clean and maintain and the dogs do not scratch the tile with both being over 100#'s and very rambunctious.

Laminate or tile for house?

Not sure how I missed this! I vote laminate in living areas/hallways and tile in kitchen/bathrooms. IMO, tile is not as "inviting/cozy" as wood floors in living areas. Maybe because one of my college houses had tile throughout the house. I didn't like walking on it, sitting on it, laying on it, and it was always cold. Also, I didn't like there not being a "separation" between rooms such as living/kitchen, etc.

Well, my wife went to Lowe's and got a quote. For materials it was $853 total which was cheaper than Home Depot, and then the installation was only around $1200 for a grand total of about $2200 after tax and delivery. So it was about a grand cheaper. My wife went ahead and decided to use Lowe's since we can put the entire flooring on her Lowe's card.
