DeWalt all the way. I've got the impact with a drill chuck and use it exclusively. I just ordered a new 20v Max set from Amazon for $249.95 to include another impact, 3/8" drill, circular saw, light, bag, 2 batteries and charger. I'll most likely give my impact to my son, as I already have one.

I have beat my dewalts to sh**t im very rough on them and they keep going. Impact is the one i use the most. My buddy has the new Milwaukee drill/impact set and they are very nice but we were working in a slight drizzle (i know probably not the smartest but had to get it done) the other day and his Milwaukee impact went out temporarily till it dried out, my dewalt never skipped a beat and they are about three years older than his.

I use my ridgid set everyday just about.
I would stick with Ridgid, Milwaukee, makita.
Just make sure they are lithium batteries. Which most are. Some really cheap sets are still nicad.
I bought a 1/2 impact for my ridgid set the other day and I use that thing all the time. I busted the Lug nuts off my 100hp tractor the other day. And we used it to change out batwing blades also.

.I'm leaning toward the rigid just based on the specs plus it looks like they have a lifetime warranty if you register your tools within 90 days of purchase.

Regardless of brand... get a driver. They are very light and have more torque than a drill. Awesome for driving bolts and screws.
However they dont replace a good drill with a clutch for small scews that don't countersink.
A driver and a drill with a clutch is a very useful combo kit. Get a cordless circular saw and you can build a deer stand anywhere with a box of screws, dimensional lumber and some plywood.Last edited by SwampRabbit; 06-17-2015, 04:40 PM.
