    How long?

Is too long to wait in a Dr office AFTER your scheduled appt time before you walk out? I'm at 1 hr 15 minutes and fixing to walk.

Depends on what the appt is for ....

If I were you I'd be getting in the middle of someone's crap.....

My wife is a PA. I get to hear about these horror stories all the time. Sadly, the providers many times catch the brunt of someone else's scheduling ability. She will get yelled at by patient who had to wait too long and she feels bad every time, but can do nothing about it. It is out of her control. A combination of upper management, the individuals creating the schedule, and sometimes compassion (trying to get all those ill to see a provider) can really screw both the patient and the provider. We both believe it is unacceptable.

That's way past my limit I can tell you that!

But I'd make dang sure they understood how I felt about the situation as I was leaving!!

My docs office opens at 8:00am. I had an appointment for blood work at 8:00am. At 9:00am, the doc calls the office to tell them she is just leaving her house. No emergency just slept late. I walked. I'm finding more and more, docs don't have much as far as work ethics.

I hate to wait so I try to make my appointments for their first opening in the morning or their first appointment right after lunch

What's really fun is when it has taken three weeks or more to get an appointment and when you and others show up, nobody in the office bothered to call the patients to tell them the Dr won't be there.

My wife has worked at 3 different family practices and can say for a fact that has not been a the case in those place. Some of those providers worked hours that are hard to fathom. However, I'm positive that just like in every line of work there are those that don't have a work ethic.
