Thinking this ugly thing is the same as a beautiful humpback blue just ain't right.
I just remembered that I've heard older guys than me call them government blues. Don't know why. Big mouth maybe ?

You have to fan or pull the the tail out if straight mud and like said above V will be blue or channel.

Look at the curved a n a l fin, that's a channel cat. Blue would be straight, unless you caught the first one with a rounded **** fin.

I don't know why some of them look like this but I have caught them before.

Its not a polly....its a blue or channel or some hybrid. Add some fathead minnows or something to that pond!

Bullhead is NOT a blue cat, 2 different fish

Bullhead is GENERALLY the same thing old timers call a Mudcat... show up unwanted in ponds... pitch him on the bank, their meat is NOT that snowy pretty white you expect, big blood line in it.

I've never seen blue cat that green. Instead, a more grayish blue. These look like channel cat

I have seen many of those in the trinity river. My grandfther called them Willow cat. they are some kind of blue cat hybrid with the inside of their mouth blue. One word of advice, dont let that sucker get hold of your finger. they can bite crazy hard!
