Because they have different diets. Your pond might be low of forage fish.

Blues like live bait. Maybe if there isn't enough live bait for both species, the channels are pushing em out.

Odd. As others have said blue cats like forage fish, crawfish etc. that being said, they should Hoover down the catfish pellets you are feeding.

That is what we always called a bullhead blue or a smut mouthed blue. Don't see many of them. Big head, skinny azz !

Hard to tell for sure from that angle but looks to be a mature male channel cat. The males have broader heads.

This.... Blue cats have very short whiskers in comparison with channels.
