I believe HEB's legs are already cooked, so all you're really doing is heating them up.

My preferred method for cookie king crab legs is to smoke them about 1 hour and 15 minutes at 225 degrees. Nice smoke flavor and the shells become brittle and easier to peel.

if that's the case, then I'd suggest steaming over boiling to maintain the sweet meat flavor

add water to pot, add lemons, a can of beer, black pepper, sea salt, 1 T RB seasoning boil or Old Bay, let boil for 5 minutes to incorporate flavor

put thawed out legs in a colander , place over boiling water and cover to steam legs.

Since the meat was likely already cooked, steam for 10-15 minutes.

then dip crab leg meat and clusters in melted butter (add minced garlic if you wish)

The only thing I add to this is 1/4 cup white vinegar, seems to make them easier to get the meat out.

My wife and I eat snow crab clusters from HEB quite often. I just put about 1/2 inch of water in a pot and steam them on low for around 20 minutes just to warm them up. I sprinkle some Tony's in the pot once they are steaming just so you get a little seasoning on your fingers that transfers to the meat while eating them. Wife likes to make a little garlic butter up to dip hers in. The legs are usually scored on one side and you can run a fork along the leg and split it open and peel the meat out in lumps. My wife and I can usually eat around 2 pounds together and a pound of shrimp in a sitting and be satisfied. You can catch them on sale at HEB or Kroger for around 5.97 a pound, I got lucky and found them at one HEB 2 weeks ago for 4.97 a pound.

We get the pre-cooked ones from HEB....boil them in beer, water, and RB seafood boil for about 7-8 minutes. Easy and amazing.

No suggestions, however that could make me want to go back to school.

I will have to try this...I've often seen them but never bought any.

Most places with a seafood counter have a steamer, and will season and steam them for you for free at the store.
