    Help select some new arrows

I shoot a Mathews DXT with a 29" draw. In order to get my Slick Tricks to fly with my field points I have to drop it down to 65 lbs or less. The current arrows are Carbon Force Radial X-Weave Predator 300s at 28 1/2" from the saddle of the nock to the end of the insert with 100 grain heads.

When I had it cranked up to 70 lbs. I was getting 290 fps out of those arrows at 397 grains. But, the Slicks are all over the place - primarily right. No amount of adjusting I did would get that out. Other broadheads such as a 100 grain Montec are worse as is a 100 grain MX4.

I want to be able to shoot my bow up to 70 lbs. having my shafts be just right at 70 lbs. and good enough at 65 lbs. or so. I would like to purchase the right arrows, 28 1/2" from the saddle to the end of the insert - I like that length. I want to be able to buy them and fletch them myself. What shafts do you guys who know recommend for 70 lbs. at a 29" draw, with 28 1/2" shafts. Oh, RipCord before I forget. I want my broadheads to hit with my field points.

Ok I dont know about that arrow with out looking at a chart !but your arrow has enough weight. Are they spined for 70lbs? You need to paper tune you bow. If you shoot a drop away rest you can rotate you nocks a qt turn. That can straighten the flight.
      Hope it helps

        I shoot a dxt 65#-29" Draw with 28.5" Easton Axis Nfuse 400's
Works well with 100 grain Tight Point Shuttle-T's , Blazer Vanes (402grain)

The Vapor Blackhawks 5000's should work. You could also try the Goldtip XT Hunter 5575.

Yes, a 28.5" Predator 300 shows to be properly spined for 70 lbs and 290 fps, but it doesn't work as advertised. Broadheads are right of the field points no matter what I do (short of dropping the poundage, which works). That points to a weak spine.

Weak spine or a fletching issue. What type of fletching do you use? I had simular issues with my Alley and Guardian until I tried some arrows with 4" duravanes instead of Blazers, problem solved.

Blazers. I've got the same arrows with 4" vanes, but I have tried them.

try some beman team realtree 340 arrows they are a little pricey but some of the best arrows i have shot and my slick tricks are deadly with them out to 60 yards.

Shoot the ACC 3-60's and you shouldn't have a problem.

I shoot 340 easton full metal jackets at 28" with slick tricks and rage 2 blades. That's with a Bowtech Guardian at 73#. That spine should be fine and there's of juice to go through about anything.

Beman ICS hunter 340's (or the Elites if you want to spend more $$ for a smidgen more straightness) should do the trick & come in around 415 grains total weight.

Ok, so I should go with some brand in the 340s, right, and not the 400s?

If it's a little stiff, is that better than a little weak?
