Dang, I was just talking to one of the nurses yesterday about cabins in Broken Bow! I had no clue there was rainbows trout fishing....are the rivers cold enough or is this some stocked thing?

I'd appreciate more info as we are only an hour and a half away.

Yes, water is released from the bottom of Broken Bow Reservoir and it is c-c-c-cold year round. Trout have been stocked over the years and continue to be stocked weekly.

I don't know a whole lot about it, this was my first time going. According to my buddy that lives there, they release something like 30,000 a year in the rivers. The water is very cold. We were waist deep without waders, but I don't suggest that. I'll be a little better prepared next trip. Cabins range from 1 room single beds to cabins that sleep 20. Price varies a lot too. It's a beautiful place! I was fishing next to a bridge and felt something nudge me. I looked down and there's a little spike poking me with his nose. His ears were covered in ticks and I helped him out with that a little. He just stood there and let me pull ticks off and pet him like a dog.

Looking at the streamflow conditions for Oklahoma it appears that they are also getting a lot of rainfall in southeastern Ok.

The upper Mountain Fork got up over 23' a couple days ago. It normally runs around 7-8' this time of year. Wonder what that will do to the release rates from the dam?
