2 highschool classmates of mine perished in the WTC on that day. One worked for Kantor Fitzgerald who's offices were hit by the plane, and the other was a Port Authority Policeman, who died on this second trip into the tower after carrying a woman out to safety in his 1st trip in. I spoke to his partner months afterwards.

My Dad died of colon cancer on 9/16/01 in NJ, and after his burial on 9/22 and everybody left my Mom's house late in the afternoon, I took the rental car into NYC to pay my respects to those who died at the WTC, and to put an iris from my Dad's gravesite somewhere in NYC, where he was born, lived and worked for many years. Wearing my boots and my belt with a buckle in NYC (and carrying an iris), somehow the people figured out that I was not a 'local'.

I'll never forget coming around the corner of a building and there being a police barrier set up across the avenue, and seeing this scene at night with all the emergency lights illuminating it, from about 1/2 mile north of the WTC site.

I went to church this am to pray for all who died, and especially for Joe Navas, NYPA Policeman. Don't ever forget.

Very well said..today is a day to stop what your doing and take a moment to reflect and remember those that fell that day in all of the combined attacks. Let those memories refuel our resolve, let those feeling's of rage we felt remind us why our men and women of the armed forces are at war around the world. May God comfort those that were lost that day and may he walk beside those that are living...

With Ike coming, today isn't getting the coverage it should. I will never forget that day. Never.

God bless our troops, the poor souls that lost their lives to those cowards, and all their families.
