my experience is either scent is fine still gotta play and work the wind but i'm not mad enough at a hog or deer to get eaten alive by mosquito's so it's in the pack.

I'm a rookie so, in the few times I've hunted a pig or hog, I got busted a few times using a thermacell. I'll keep trying.

If they smell the Thermacell, they smell you, and vice versa.

This, of course I'm a rookie just like Fishndadio. I have yet to see anything that will cover or get rid of human scent enough to fool a hog. Deer on the other hand I have fooled.

I've never used the earth scent, and haven't used the regular since last night--no pigs. But, that isn't the usual case. I've been using mine for 3-4 years and can't recall a time I've been busted. But, you still need to play the wind!!
