So I have a small coon problem. I have a group of about 6 coins that are at my protein feeder all night, every night. They wrap their back legs around one tube and use one of their hands to scoop gobs of protein out onto the ground. Obviously the waist of money is a big issue with me. The other issue I have with these thieves is they leave a lot of it on the ground. So when it rains the protein spoils and begins to stink something awful. I bought some coon cuffs and baited them with marshmallows around the perimeter of my feeder pen but they never touch them. I don't have time to give them led poisoning. Is there something else I should be baiting with?

Wouldnt the smell of a rotting carcass from an illegally poisoned raccoon be worse than a little wet protein?
Move your traps a little further away from the feeder and bait them with sardines or cat food. Then if you don't check them often it won't be stinking it up around the feeder.
And deer won't eat the poison. But a protected animal such as. Buzzard might eat the dead coon, and then die which could and has led to major legal problems. Just sayin...
