I quit cold turkey after ten years of a two can a day habit. I met a guy that was having slivers of butt-meat cut off to build him a new bottom lip. That was enough for me. That was about 20 years ago.

Today makes day 30 for me tobacco free. I dipped about a can+ of copenhagen a day for 18 years. I have quit before, sometimes for up to 6 months, only to have gone back to it. I am using the niccotine gum right now, it's a crutch....but without it i think I would already have gone back. Funny thing is that I have already lost the desire for a dip, now i just want the gum...which I am hoping will be easier to "replace". Best of luck to everyone wanting to kick it.

I started dipping Cope at 6 yrs. Big rodeo family everyone dipped. I quit 2 weeks after I graduated high school. After 13 years and I just tossed the can out the window. Over the years I have taken a dip from time to time but I have not bought a can in in 16 years. I smoked at the time too. I continued to smoke and quit that last September after walking up 50 feet of a gradually inclining set of stairs at the lake and being winded. I said forget that and threw them in the trash. I will admit that on New years eve I decided to have a smoke and celebrate New years. Bad mistake that pack had been open since July 2007 and it put a butt kicking on me. It reminded me of the first cigarett I ever smoked. I got nausous, the cold sweats, and began worshiping the porcelean god. So if anyone needs a trick to quit that works better than the patch, try smoking a 6 month old cigarett that has been laying out.
Haven't tried one since and the smell makes me nausous to this day.

So god bless and strength be with you.

I quit a 2 pack a day habit cold turkey Aug. 14th, 2005 after smoking since I was 17. I have since quit having that smokers cough to.

Wishing everyone trying to quit the strenght to stay on track. You wont regret it.

                Skoal... 2006

No big addict to them but I took the decision and feel proud of it.

                Congrats to y'all big quiters.

My name is Wade and I too am a Quitter!!

15 years of at least a can/day. Cold turkey just a few months ago. The big help is so many of my coworkers are/have quit too so I don't have to see all day like in the past. Proud that I kicked it, not only for me but for the two little ones and my darling wife.
