Worming can be a tricky thing with these goats as you don't know anything about where they came from and the worming history there.

I use Ivomec(ivermectin), Safeguard(fenbendazole) and Cydectin(moxidectin). I've had good luck and not so good luck with all of them. Depends on the goat/lamb, what parasites he might have and the immunity in the herd he came from.

I use a paste or liquid form for all of these and typically do a double body weight dose when using Ivomec or Safeguard. I follow the label with Cydectin. If I use Cydectin, I typically will follow up within a week or two with Safeguard to make sure I'm covered.

I also check eye and gum color often to make sure it keeps a nice red color to indicate the animal is not anemic from certain parasite infection.

If I see any indication of skin parasites, I use an Ivomec injectible, SQ and follow up with a topical treatment of Prolate, or Permethrin.

ShowRite Advancer.........and if you want to take it a step further, coat it with GluCoat at about 30cc's per pound of feed.

You can't beat StandAlone supplement. As far as feed goes, there are a lot of good feeds, biggest deal is picking one and learning how feeding it works for you.
