Other than the Bucks roaring,or whatever you want to call it, I've only ever heard the does make the barking sound. Is there another sound they make?

Hey Ragin, When you say 'squeak', are you referring to the 'alarm bark'?

If you aren't talking about the bark, I've heard the axis whistle before. Is that the squeak? They seem to do it when they are just casually talking with one another, not sounding an alarm. I've seen the bucks do it as well and also the alarm bark.

Not the bark at all. That social whatever you call it when a bunch are together. Let me dig on the net and see if o can't find it. I can't duplicate it.

Yes, that is a bark. The bucks will do it, but mainly does. It is the equivalent to a whitetail blowing.

Here is a (bad quality) video of Sika whistling. In my opinion the Sika sound more like elk- there whistle is a tad more gutteral. The axis whistle is the same style however
