dont know if anyone has said this or not but use the blanket technique then throw them in a water tank yes it is cruel but not any more cruel than the tail pip technique.

This! We used to fill the bottom of the live trap with dirt. This forces the skunk to squeeze in. They can't lift their tail. Once trapped, fill up a garbage can with water and drop the whole trap in there. Wait till the bubbles stop, no more skunk.

Use a body grip trap and an bucket set. The trap will break the spine making it impossible for the skunk to spray. And kill the skunk. You know, the important part.
