... All I can see with this model is the arm of that thing coming around and smashing him in the nose, and then you have and ANGRY SKUNK.... somebody video the potato gun thing

A couple other things you might try before the trap.

        Bright Lights, Scared Skunks
Skunks are night-dwelling animals, and don't like bright light. A motion-activated flood lamp will often startle them off.

        What's That Smell?
It may seem ironic, but skunks hate certain odors (as if they have room to judge). Citrus, ammonia, mothballs and predator urine (dog, coyote, etc) are three smells that can scare off skunks. If you use mothballs or ammonia-soaked cotton balls, be sure to keep them far away from children.

I've found lung shooting them works a lot better than a head shot, only spay about 30% of the time
You need my youngest boy Dylan, he is a skunk killing machine

There's a light on the wall right where M.C. found the scat and I am smelling skunk today. There's a street light directly across the street too. Pretty bright all night long right there. I thought about moth balls or some other repellant, but I'd just as soon get rid of the stinking critter rather than just pushing him to a neighbor's yard.

Add a rope tied to the trap and the neighbors pool.

I've done this, it works more often than not. I've live released skunks out of live traps without incident. Feels goofy as all get out, talking to a skunk, but it seems to help.

Do you have a trap I could borrow, Jason?

dont know if anyone has said this or not but use the blanket technique then throw them in a water tank yes it is cruel but not any more cruel than the tail pip technique.

I wouldn't relocate it or try to move the trap if I didn't have to. If you don't want your trap to stink just get a stick and prop the door open. Move slow and try not to scare the skunk anymore than you have to. It'll run out, make sure you're upwind from it and shoot it with a shotgun. It might spray, might not. If you don't care if the trap stinks or not just shoot it in the trap. I've heard acetone in a syringe will kill a skunk without it spraying but whether there's truth to that or not I can't say. I just shoot em.

No skunk in the trap or on the trailcam. Haven't smelled it either the last couple of days. Maybe it got ran over or moved on somewhere else. Still have the trap and camera out though.
